Spring Term Curriculum Letter:

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend out Meet and Greet evening in the summer term 2022. For anyone unable to attend; here are the slides from the evening.

Here is a copy of our Long Term Plan. Some areas may be subject to change as the year progresses but the document will be edited accordingly.

Times Tables

Times tables will be a big focus this year with the Year 4 Times Tables Check being administered in June 2023. Please encourage your children to practice their times tables regularly including using Times Tables Rockstars. The children have their log in details stuck in the front of their reading diary. Times tables will be tested weekly on Wednesdays.

Below you can find a document with more information about what will happen in the check.

PE

This half term (Spr 1) our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure that your child comes to school in a PE kit that is suitable for colder weather. Indoor PE is on Tuesdays and outdoor PE is on Wednesdays . Please also make sure that long hair is tied back on these days and any jewellery is removed. Children will not be able to participate if ear piercings are not removed.

Reading

Reading regularly is paramount as reading is a transferable skill across all areas of the curriculum. It is really important that your child is reading for at least 80 minutes each week so that they are improving their fluency and comprehension skills and consolidating what has been taught in class. Diaries will be checked each Friday.
