Times Tables

Times tables will be a big focus this year with the Year 4 Times Tables Check being administered in June 2022. Please encourage your children to practice their times tables regularly including using Times Tables Rockstars. The children have their log in details stuck in the front of their reading diary. Times tables will be tested weekly on Thursdays.

Below you can find a document with more information about what will happen in the check.

PE

This term, our PE days are Wednesday and Friday. Please ensure that your child comes to school in a PE kit that is suitable for colder weather. Please also make sure that long hair is tied back on these days and any jewellery is removed. Children will not be able to participate if ear piercings are not removed.

Reading

Reading regularly is paramount as reading is a transferable skill across all areas of the curriculum. It is really important that your child is reading for at least 80 minutes each week so that they are improving their fluency and comprehension skills and consolidating what has been taught in class. Diaries will be checked each Friday.
