Alresford Primary Choir

Well done to our choir, we had an exciting time last academic year (2024-25) where we took part in Young Voices and Tendring Vocal Festival. We are attending Young Voices again! If you missed this letter, let the office staff know and they can email you the document or see details before.

Choir Events (2025-2026):

• Wednesday 15^th October – Harvest Festival at St Andrews Church
  • First performance as a choir during our school harvest festival (any dream will do song)

• November – Rotary Annual Choir Competition
  • First public performance at High School for Girls, Norman Way, Colchester
  • Heats on Thursday 13^thNovember
  • If we get through to the final, it is likely to be on Tuesday 18^th
  • All events start from 6.30pm and we would need parents to get the children to each of the events. You are able to stay and watch. The event to should finish at around 8pm.
  • 2 songs: Any dream will do and Power in me

• Wednesday 25^th February - Young Voices
  • Largest children choir at the O2, London. Ticket information has been sent out already.

• March (date to be confirmed) – Tendring Vocal Festival
  • Multiple school event at Princes Theatre, Clacton. There will be a daytime (in school hours) rehearsal and then an evening show that you can attend. Tickets will need to be purchased through Princes Theatre nearer the time. Again for the evening show, we would need parents to get their child to the event.

Young Voices

Thank you for signing your child up to our Choir.  We have signed our school up again to participate in the Young Voices choir, which takes place at The O2 on Wednesday 25^th February 2026.  This is an amazing opportunity for our children to join thousands of other children in a spectacular event – they will get to be a part of the largest children’s choir in the world. The children will arrive at the O2 at 12:45pm, rehearsal time is 2:00pm to 5:00pm and then concert time will be 7:00pm to 8:45pm. 

We have organised a coach for the event. If you wish to attend the event as well and would like to travel with your child, we have seats available so please inform us and pay for yours and your child’s seat via School Money.  Please note parents are not allowed into the venue until the actual performance.  This event costs the school a lot of money, so payment must be made for children to attend. 

For those that will be attending, tickets need to be ordered by 29^th September at the latest.  You can order tickets and t-shirts by signing up to the Young Voices Music Room via this QR code or the link below.

The Music Room contains all the songs, lyrics, videos etc meaning your child can practice at home as well as at school.  We cannot add your child to the choir it has to be done through you as a parent.  You can sign up without ordering tickets or t-shirts so please can you do this ASAP.  When you order the tickets and t-shirts it will direct you to a payment page and notify us of how many tickets you have ordered etc.  These are delivered to us and then we will hand them out to you.  They cannot guarantee that after 30^th September there will be any tickets available and if there are, the price will increase.  You do not have to attend if you do not want to, school staff will escort the children there and back.
