Alresford Primary Choir

Alresford Choir Events 2026-2027

Thank you for signing your child up to our choir club. We had an exciting year last academic year where we took part in three large events including a new competition run by Colchester Rotary Club! The children’s confidence grew so much throughout the year and I am excited to see where this year takes us. 

I wanted to let you know the events for this academic year that we are being a part of:

• Monday 12^th October – Harvest Festival at St Andrews Church
  • First performance as a choir during our Y4-6 harvest festival.
• November – Rotary Annual Choir Competition
  • First public performance at High School for Girls, Norman Way, Colchester
  • Heats have not been confirmed yet (dates could be on 5th, 10^th or 12^th November)
  • If we get through to the final, it is likely to be on Tuesday 17^th
  • The doors will be open from 6pm. All events start from 7pm and we would need parents to get the children to each of the events. You are able to stay and watch. The event to should finish at around 8.15pm.
• Tuesday 2^nd February - Young Voices
  • Largest children choir at the O2, London. Ticket information will be sent out soon.
• March (date to be confirmed) – Tendring Vocal Festival
  • Multiple school event at Princes Theatre, Clacton. There will be a daytime (in school hours) rehearsal and then an evening show that you can attend. Tickets will need to be purchased through Princes Theatre nearer the time. Again for the evening show, we would need parents to get their child to the event. More information about the event will be given closer to the time.
